Fun at One

Ages: 12 - 23 months with an Adult. Welcome to the world of the one-year-old! We gather together each week to sing, play, and move with other families and same-age peers. Class begins with open-ended time for toddlers to play and explore while socializing and getting to know same-age peers and their adults. The train whistle signals the arrival in the station and the beginning of circle time. The group will have fun singing and dancing in addition to practicing important gross motor skills like walking backwards, marching, and jumping. Class ends with a read-aloud book and stickers. Instructor: Jennifer Neesem. 8 classes. No class 7/1. 100% scholarship recipients pay $10.

Younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones and older children learn by leading younger ones. Registered families receive the Harmonica Collection Songbook + access to download music. Infant Massage and Bonding

Ages: Newborn - 6 months with an Adult. This five-week course is a great way to bond with your baby while connecting with other parents of little ones. Infant massage promotes relaxation, enhances neurological development and stimulates all of your baby’s physiological systems. Research-based techniques learned during this hands-on parent course can help during those difficult times with colic, digestion, teething and self-soothing. Ages: 12 - 30 months with an Adult. This class for older babies and toddlers and their adults focuses on movement for building a child’s body and brain in a high-energy gym setting. Each class includes repetitive welcome songs to practice waving, clapping, stomping, and other gross motor movements. Dancing together and moving to the beat are more fun with rotating props such as scarves, shakers, balls, and stuffed animals. Get to know other participants and peers in a friendly and enriching environment designed to explore and be active! Instructor: Sam Coffin. 6 classes. 100% scholarship recipients pay $5.

Ages: 2 - 11 months (non-walkers) with an Adult. Gather each week to sing, dance, play and socialize. Class includes a teacher-led circle time with a routine of lap songs, nursery rhymes, movement, and stories. Each week’s class includes adult discussions focusing on parenting and a teacher-led circle time with a routine of lap songs, nursery rhymes, movement, and stories. While the babies play and explore, the adults have a chance to explore topics related to this age group including sleeping, eating, developmental milestones, etc.. Share the joys and challenges of parenthood with the same families week-to-week. This class fits best for non-walking babies. Instructor: Sara Callaghan and Susanna Brown. 7 classes. Outdoor Adventures

Ages: 2.5 - 5 years with an Adult. This classroom has no walls and provides dedicated time to be outside with early learners during summer! In this series of classes, you and your early learner explore nature all using all of your senses. Discover parts of our forests through a mix of nature-based activities, full body exploration and play. Classes meet rain or shine, please dress for the weather and a change of clothes is never a bad idea. Lauren Earl leads the class with a background in biology and a strong passion for experiencing nature and community with all families. All are welcome. Instructor: Lauren Earl. 4 classes. Jazzy Dance Sampler

Ages: 3 - 5 years. This new dance class allows your preschooler to experience dance and movement through the lens of Broadway jazz and African diaspora jazz. Classes include warm-up, footwork, beginning tumbling, traveling across the floor and emphasis on gaining large motor skills. A short in-class presentation will take place in the final class. Ms. Sears is a polished educator with a professional dance and somatics career, a former dance professor, and adjudicator for the MYAF. Kids and parents explore the expansive playground and enjoy special water activities week-to-week like sprinklers, water balloons, water tables and more. Ted Austin, who leads the Dad’s group during the school year, is pivoting to offer this summer class for the whole family! Bring beach towels and a change of clothes for your little ones. Jump Into Speech for Toddlers

Ages: 15 - 27 months with an Adult. Between 15 and 27 months, toddlers develop their vocabulary at an amazing rate. In this class, adults learn and practice strategies to enhance language learning with guidance from teacher and Speech and Language Pathologist, Emily McGuire. During the first part of class, toddlers and adults explore and play in different stations in our classroom while making choices and interacting with peers. Areas may include block building, dramatic play, fine motor, gross motor, art, books, sensory awareness and more. The second part of class is Circle Time with songs, movement, partner activities, and “What’s in the Box?” Returning families have dedicated time to practice already-introduced strategies in a classroom social setting. Lesley leads families through large and small scale art projects while building a creative community of artists. Explore shapes, colors and patterns while painting, building, gluing and sticking. Music and movement are woven into class each week. Lesley documents each class and designs a photo storybook for purchase at the end of the session.
