9/17/24 - 10/29/24

Grades: 1st - 5th. Join the Nutty Scientists for our extended aftercare and science enrichment program with a focus on problem solving and constructing! The students will spend most of their time in our classes getting creative with designing and building our fun inventions. A small part of the class will be focused on allowing children to find fun after a full day of school in our stations. From movement activities, to art, math games, or reading and relaxing, this is the opportunity for everyone to be met at their level no matter where their energy level is at. Instructor: Nutty Scientists staff. 6 classes. No class 9/24. See below for details of each week's topic: Vroom Vroom Velocity: Students create projects using one of our six simple machines… the wheel! Then we will explore motion, direction, acceleration, speed, and of course velocity! Marble Maze: Another simple machine we’ll be looking at is the inclined plane. Students will create a moving ramp in an obstacle course for a little marble. Architect Challenge: We will be building our own designs to create the tallest, widest, and sturdiest of structures! Catapults: Students will learn about Accuracy, Precision, and how to LAUNCH! Need for speed: Talk to me, Goose… This lesson our students will explore not just planes, but helicopters and gliders as well! Paper planes get taken to a whole new level with the Nutty Scientists! DIY Robots: Students will make their very own robot using a simple circuit system. This robot's job: make art!
