Kidokinetics SportsPlay 2-3.5 Years

Ages: 2 - 3.5 years with an Adult. Kidokinetics provides athletic enrichment for children by introducing various sports and creative activities to foster movement that supports gross motor skill development. The SportsPlay class offers a fun introduction to sports designed to help toddlers and preschoolers and their adults get moving and build physical confidence! Each week features a warm-up song and stretch, an introduction to a new sport or activity (kickball, frisbee, scoops, hula hoops, football, ninja-style agility, etc), an interactive game, and an age-appropriate anatomy and physiology lesson to help bring awareness to our amazing bodies. NOTE: When weather allows and the grass is mowed, class will be held outside on the lawn at Eberbach. Instructors: Kidokinetics Coaches. 6 classes. No class 10/11. 100% scholarship recipients pay $10.

Little Ninjas Karate

Ages: 4 - 6 years old without and Adult (but Adult stays on site). Little Ninjas teaches introductory martial arts skills to young children. The class is catered to the abilities and attention span of this age group. Children will learn discipline, self-control, respect for teachers, parents and classmates, physical fitness and coordination, balance, memory and focus. Learning is done through fun games and activities, and experienced, professional martial arts instructors keep the children moving and engaged. Each child will complete the introductory curriculum of Little Ninjas and receive their first Ninja belt (no additional fee). A responsible adult must remain in attendance for this half-hour class. Instructor: PKSA Karate Staff. 6 classes. No class 10/11.

Kids Power Karate

Grades: 2nd - 6th. Students learn self-defense, physical fitness and coordination, teamwork, anti-kidnapping techniques, self-discipline, respect for parents and teachers, and self-confidence in a positive, fun environment with experienced professional martial arts instructors. At the end of the course they will have completed the introductory curriculum of the Korean martial art of Tang Soo Do and will receive their yellow belt, the first of many steps toward a black belt if they wish to pursue it. Parents may participate with their children if they wish (this is optional). Last class includes a martial arts demonstration and each child will break a board under the safe supervision of instructors. A responsible adult must remain in attendance for this 45-minutes class. Putting, chipping, pitching and full swing are all taught through games, simple repetitive motions and learning rhymes, making it easy for young children to remember and repeat. More than any other sport, golf reinforces character development that carries over into being better citizens, classmates and family members. Instructors: Skyhawks Detroit West Coaches. 5 classes. Ages: 3 - 4.5 years with an Adult. Enjoy beginning basketball with other preschoolers and their parents. The Skyhawks coaches lead fun classes focusing on dribbling, shot technique, passing and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately-sized balls provide just the right amount of challenge. Ages: 4 - 5.5 years with an Adult at the beginning of the session. Come enjoy beginning basketball with other preschoolers and their parents. The Skyhawks coaches lead fun classes focusing on dribbling, shot technique, passing and teamwork. Adjustable hoops and appropriately-sized balls provide just the right amount of challenge. Lessons are designed to improve balance, coordination, and agility. Although the focus is still on the individual, players may work in pairs at times. Players are challenged by using different types of balls throughout the session. Activities are designed to enhance creativity and decision-making for the soccer field. Learn about a different soccer culture from around the world each week. Adult participation is optional; adults need to stay on site during class. Sessions are 45 minutes long and run by Michigan Futsal Factory Academy staff members. 6 classes. No class 10/12. Weather make-up 11/2. 100% scholarship recipients pay $10.
