Cookie Decorating Workshop

Grades: 1st - 8th with an Adult. Join us for a delightful winter-themed cookie decorating workshop where creativity meets winter cheer! This hands-on experience is perfect for adults and children alike. Take home your beautifully decorated cookies to share with loved ones or savor them as sweet reminders of a wonderful winter day spent together. During this hands-on workshop, you and your child will have the opportunity to decorate a variety of winter-themed cookies with colorful icing, edible decorations, and festive designs. Our experienced instructor will guide you through the process, offering tips and tricks for creating beautifully decorated treats. Workshop will include: One Cookie Colab Signature Cookie to eat, 4 cookies to decorate, Box/packaging to transport cookies, Use of any tools needed for decorating (piping tips, Toothpicks, decorating stick, glitter, etc), Cookie Colab sticker and staged place setting to take a photo. Join us for an exciting culinary experience where you and your little chef will collaborate to create three delicious game-day favorites: Butterscotch Potato Chip Cookies, Smoky Bacon-Wrapped Baby Potatoes, and a fantastic BLT Dip. Watch your child's creativity shine as they mix, mold, and assemble tasty treats that will impress your friends and family! All food and equipment will be provided. Blue Dragon Dance Theater

Age: 6 - 9 years without an Adult. Inspired by the multi-age dance company this class emphasizes creativity and collaboration in dance, art and poetry. Building on basic dance skills dancers choreograph movement, elements and poems for at least one performance onsite and another one in the studio. Celebrating the individual and the group, BDDT supports the physical, artistic and emotional growth with a healthy dose of silly in the mix. Lesley holds degrees in Children’s Dance and English Literature and is excited to continue her Blue Dragon Dance Theater tradition with your child. Instructor: Lesley Criscenti. 9 classes. 100% scholarship recipients pay $10.

Grades: 1st - 6th with an Adult. Winter Clay Sculpting for Kids & Grown-Ups Join us for a fun-filled two-day workshop where families can unleash their creativity together! Participants will sculpt delightful winter-themed figures such as snowmen, penguins, and holiday ornaments using air-dry clay. We’ll explore various tools and techniques to create unique textures and shapes, and on the second day, everyone will have the opportunity to paint their creations. Perfect for kids and adults alike, this workshop encourages bonding through art while celebrating the magic of winter! Instructor: Namrata Khemka. 2 classes.

Come take an adult-child sewing class, where you and a child in your life can learn the basics of working with sewing machines, patterns, fabric, and more! No experience needed! Projects include a drawstring bag and pajama pants. The adult and child will share a sewing machine and workspace during class, taking turns "teaching" and reminding each other of safety and steps. Sewing machines and basic supplies will be provided. Materials list will be provided at the first class session. Instructor: Elise Blaauw. 6 classes. No class 2/15.

Grades: K - 5th. Beginning/Intermediate. Students with no or some experience in chess are welcome to join. They learn basic opening and ending strategies and further learn how to use forks and pins. Instructors: G-Powers staff. 4 classes. No class 2/15.

Adult/Child: Exploring Clay Together

1/12/25 - 3/23/25

Grades: K - 6th with an Adult. Fee is per pair. Adults and children learn classical techniques of tile making, slab construction, sculpture, press molding, coiling, and glazing. This class is NOT structured in such a way that everyone makes the same thing iin each session (i.e. a pinch pot, a bowl, etc.). Each participant will decide on their own projects and the instructor will advise on the best way to construct the piece. Children will not be able to use the wheel in this class. Fee includes glazing and firing of 3-6 medium to large pieces and material costs. Each pair receives one 25lb bag of clay per session. 100% scholarship recipients pay $60 (needed for cost of supplies). Additional clay can be purchased from Rovin Ceramics. Instructor: Mae Huynh. 10 classes. No class 2/16.

Ages: 6 - 9 years with an Adult. S-T-R-E-T-C-H! Move, breathe, smile, and laugh while reaping the many benefits of yoga. Developmentally appropriate poses, games, breathing, and meditation techniques will be practiced to build body awareness, release energy, and experience relaxation. Yogi Carl brings 17+ years experience as a certified personal trainer and yoga teacher for all ages. Bring a yoga mat and plan on a fun and zen Sunday afternoon. Instructor: Carl Gunderson of Simply Holistic Fitness & Wellness. 7 classes. No class 2/2 & 2/16. 100% scholarship recipients pay $10.

Adult/Child: Let's Sew Together Level 2

1/26/25 - 3/9/25

 

Grades: 1st - 6th with an Adult. This class builds off of the Adult-Child level one class and introduces new skills and fabrics. Students will be given a choice between two projects with the option to complete both if time allows. The backpack project will teach students about zippers, buttons, and 3D shapes, while the knit t-shirt will teach students how to use a standard garment pattern while working with stretch fabrics. Both child and adult are expected to have basic sewing skills, including threading, using seam allowances, and sewing both straight and curved lines. Sewing machines and basic supplies will be provided. Instructor: Elise Blaauw. 6 classes. No class 2/16.
